 The procedure entry point FT_Thunk could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll

Whenever I try to start an application that uses DirectX under Windows NT I
get following error message: "The procedure entry point FT_Thunk could not
be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll". I tried different GFX
drivers but the problem stays. What can I do about it?
