Event Viewer Error: PerfNet - Event ID: 2004

I am getting the following RED Cross error message in
Event Viewer:

Unable to open the Server service. Server performance
data will not be returned. Error code returned is in data
DWORD 0.

The source is: PerfNet, the event is 2004.

There is no info on this error in Help & Support. I am on
Win XP Home with SP1.

Any ideas on what this error is?

Thanks.

Event Viewer Error: PerfNet - Event ID: 2004
Dear Nemesis,

Thanks for your help, but the article was talking about
printer errors, esp. dealing with HP Jet Direct cards. I
have none of those. It also seemed to be delaing with
Windows 2000, not Win XP.

Anyway, thanks.

I've been searching the Microsoft KB and various XP newsgroups and have been
unable to located a solution or complete definition of these error messages.
Also, does anyone know if there is a download that includes all the Event ID
descriptions? I was able to find one for W2K, but not WinXP Pro. Any help
would be greatly appreciated. Please respond with any information to both
this group and my hotmail account: cbon...@hotmail.com . Thanks. Chris
