This is a Windows XP group. Your problem would be better answered in
printer groups or HP support, HP forums (if any). If the low ink icon is
in the notification area (formerly called system tray) of the taskbar (right
side), right click the time, then left click Properties. When the Taskbar
and Start Menu Properties dialog box opens, on the Taskbar tab, under the
heading Notification Area, make sure there's a check in the box for Hide
Inactive Icons (if there isn't one there already click to put a check
there). Then click the Customize button. When the Customize Notifications
window opens, click on the offending icon, use the dropdown arrow under the
field for the Behavior for that icon, select the option to Always Hide,
click the OK button, and then click the Apply and OK buttons at the bottom
of the remaining window. BTW, if you right click the offending icon, is
there a menu with options, like Don't show this icon?, or Preferences, or
Options, where you can disable the warning icon? If not, and it's in the
notification area, the method above should keep it hidden.
Pay it forward...
