* I am receiving this error msg above, tried using
chkdsk /f to fix the problem. The problem is after
scheduling the program for reboot, i received error msgs
such hardware related problems which turned the destop
blue, so the os restarted. So what i did was to undo all
the changes from XP's safe mode. But the problems are
still there. I think its with the hard disk im using,
120GB Western Digital model WDC WD1200JB-75CRA0.

1.errors in the Volume Bitmap.

Hi,

I ran chkdsk and I get this error in the volume bitmap,
whatever that is, and follow the instructions to use
the "F" switch with the chkdsk command and reboot. After
which I still get the error, which is this when I run
chkdsk again;

File verification completed.
CHKDSK is verifying indexes (stage 2 of 3)...

CHKDSK is verifying security descriptors (stage 3 of 3)

Anyone know what this is about, and if it is a problem,
fix? I don't seem to have anything going wrong, but I do
believe in preventative maintenance.
