No scroll bars on remote desktop

I have my remote desktop on my 800x600 laptop, remoting into my 1024
desktop.
However, the laptop screen is truncated and does not have scrollbars to see
all of the desktop screen.
Is there a setting somewhere that controls this?

Are you trying to run full screen mode?  If I am to run the scenario
you are talking about (outside of full screen mode), I get
scroll-bars...  If you want, you can run the RD session at a different
screen resolution than your original screen (i.e., connect and work at
800x600 via rd and use 1024x768 on the desktop)....
