 Save Updates to disc

I think this was posted several months ago but I can't remember:

How can you you save the automatic updates to a file or cd so if you have to
re install Xp you don't have to download them again.  (I'm thinking post
service pack 1)

Any help would be appreciated.

Does anyone know how to save XP updates to a disk rather than have them
install automatically.  I remember a post here a while ago regarding a third

help would be great.
