Remember password on mapped network drive doesn't

I installed Windows XP Home edition on my laptop computer.  I've connected
to a mapped network drive on my desktop computer (a Win 98 machine).  The
mapped drive requires a password.  Unfortunately, there's no checkbox to
"remember password" when I connect to the Win 98 shared drive.  Thus, when I
reboot the XP machine I must re-enter the password each time.  My account
has Administrator rights.

This is a real pain!  How can I tell XP to remember the password for the
network connection?

TIA,

chuck

Remember password on mapped network drive doesn't

This is what I did. I created a user account on my WinXP computer with the
same password as the password for the shared folders on Win98 desktop.

There may be other ways.

1.map network drive does not remember password

Hi

I have mapped a network drive on a small peer-peer
workgroup by right clicking 'my computer' and
choosing 'map network drive'.

I entered a username and password to log on as, and
checked to box 'remember password'

When I log on again, I get the message that some of my
network connections have not been re-established, namely
this one.

I follow the same process using the net use command and
still can not get it to remember the password.

Any ideas how to deal with this?

Thanks
