1.OE Stops Responding
I set up 2 additional identities in my OE, then switched to one of them. Some mail imported okay. Now when I open OE, it freezes. I looked up article 274017 and it gives instructions on fixing the registry because of the following problem: "This issue can occur because when you switch identities, Outlook Express creates a DWORD registry value under the Identities subkey in the registry. This DWORD value has a title of Changing and a value of 0. When Outlook Express hangs when an identity is changed, this DWORD value is not removed. As a result, Outlook Express does not start properly, and is caught in the transition between identities." I followed the instructions for opening regedit, and located the HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Identities folder. Unfortunately, it then directs me to delete the Identities subkey 'Changing', which doesn't exist in that folder or any of the other OE related registry folders. I do have 3 REG_DWORD files in the folder. They are: Identity Login Identity Ordinal Migrated5 There are also some REG_SZ files that reference the identity: Last User ID Last Username Anybody know what I should delete to fix this problem?? I don't have much of anything in either of the 2 identities, so if I need to delete all the registry entries for both of them, leaving only my Main Identity, I am willing to do that. I apologize again for posting this question on an existing thread. I didn't notice that my pop-up blocker was preventing me from adding a new question. Thanks for any help provided. -- CathiB
